Domination of Poles in the competition for young horses, Wojcianiec and Opłatek show us that they are in good shape before Sunday’s Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Poland, high form of foreign “stars” and the fans zone, were very pleasant surprise, despite the weather conditions which tried to play trick with us – this is how you summarize first day of Lotto CSIO5* Sopot.
The beginning of the most prestigious games in this part of Europe did not fill with optimism. The fifth edition Lotto CSIO5* Sopot 2019 began with the weather breakdown and heavy rain. These, fortunately, did not stop jumping competitors and their horses who early in the morning began the most expected by
equestrian fans competitions. The winner of the Konsalnet prize was Norway Victoria
Gullisen, who with a fantastic 6-year-old Ibiza easily defeated a 125-cm course. On the second place
Marcin Bętkowski with Quality Star, and the third was Adam Nicpoń with Zero Z.
Hope for the good form of Poles appeared with the victory of Natalia Czernik with 7 years old
Chuck Bassie. A teammate Radosław Zalewski was standing behind her, riding Here and am third place took Faye Schoch from Switzerland with horse Essex. The riders fought for the prize

In the competition of the Energa Group prize, with the the patron of Radio Gdańsk number one were
Austrian couple Matthias Raisch on Magic, the second was Marcel Ewen from Luxemburg, third from Italy Massimo Grossato at Kiliano van de Vlasbloemhoeve. The best of the Poles, Maksymilian Wechta, finished competition on the 6th position, confirming that London which he brought to Sopot is in a great shape.
In the competition for the award of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, on the highest step of the podium was Francois Jr. Mathy from Belgium, just behind him well-known to all of fans German rider Daniel Deusser, and on third place again Italy Massimo Grossato, this time riding on Especiale Too. Close to best three was also Bertram Allen from Ireland. The fifth place for polish rider Krzysztof Ludwiczak with Sandra Blue.
The most important today competition no. 5 for Porsche Centrum Sopot prize – 44 couples took part. Technically difficult courses, 150 cm high and also qualification for the Friday’s Grand Prix. According to the regulations, the right of start recieved competitors entered for the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup competition and the top 10 finalists of today’s competition no.5.
Kristaps Neretnieks from Latvia won, the second was for fans of Wojciech Wojcianiec with Chintablue.
In the fourth place another Pole – Andrzej Opłatek, riding on Stalando.
The first day of the competition left us in a good mood. The Poles are well prepared and their horses
showed us they can fight with top foreign stars. Rest days promises to be exciting, and the fifth edition of Lotto CSIO in the rank of 5 stars with the participation of riders from I division ranks Hipodrom Sopot among top of the world’s organizers of equestrian events.
